Scrapbooking junkies (this means you)!

Even though I have barely mentioned it on my blog, I am a scrapbooker. Like any other crafty thing (a.k.a. knitting) I tend to work on it for a few months and then put it down again. Is that why I am like a year and a half behind on my scrapbooking?

Anyway, I have now picked up my knitting needles and scrapbooking supplies again. Yep, I have even resumed the baby hoodie project. Last night my neighbor and I went to our local library for their first ever scrapbook night. There I met two women who filled us in on the best scrapbooking secret in northern New Jersey. Apparently one of the really big scrapbooking supply companies has their warehouse about a half-hour from here. A few times a year they have a warehouse sale open to the public. Can you imagine - 10 pages of 12x12 paper for $1! 12 x 12 albums for $5! Filling up a shoebox with stickers and embellishments for $10 bucks! I came home right away to sign up for their mailing list and can't wait to hit the next sale.

I love seeing other people post pictures of their scrapbook pages so I figured I would too (I suppose a scanner would come in handy for something like this, but alas I don't have one).

Here is Leah in Hawaii when she was almost 2 years old. I took the picture and using Photoshop gave it a grainy finish, like sand. There is Diamond Head in the background. I printed out some journaling on velum:

This layout was in a magazine, so I did my best to recreate it. Leah was 2 1/2 and Dora the Explorer for Halloween:

Summertime fun (2004):

Last night I started an 8.5 x 8.5 album of our Hawaii vacation photos. Here is the first page:

Oh, thoses are wonderful!!!! All my scrapbooking stuff is packed up ready for the move, but you make me want to rip open boxes. And would you mind passing on the info on the warehouse email list? I'm never one to pass up a crafty sale...

Great work! Someday I will open the drawer where my scrapbooking stuff is (mostly) still in its wrappings ;0)

I'm having trouble accessing email so I'm responding to your comment on my blog this way. The bag can be found on www.magknits.com/sophie.

If that doesn't get you there, just go to www.magknits.com and then go to "Patterns". Good luck!

Love your layouts. I've just started scrapbooking since Collin was born. I've been using a lot of Creative Memories stuff. The digital technique seems too daunting for now. I'm planning on creating a 7x7 "ABC" album of our Cali trip for Collin.

PS I'd love to know where that factory is...I'm not too far from you Stephanie!

I love the pages, especially the one of Hawaii when Leah was little. I also have not scrapbooked in ages so it must be inherited. Maybe we should blame dad.

Beautiful pages, Stephanie! You are so creative. I want to do more scrapbooking someday - maybe after I finish my thesis...

Hey Aunt Steph,
It's Kira you have some really nice pages there. I do alot of scrapbooking myself, its just hard sometimes with the baby trying to scrapbook too(so he thinks) anyways just wanted to tell you I liked your pages ohh and you could give me a tip on printing on vellum, everytime I try it gets smeared.
Love you Kira

Wow! That's great. One day I'm going to be crafty, too. :-)Alas, I am the queen of unfinished projects.

if you know a site for adoption Life book advice please let me know. I need to get crackin'. Zoe's already in my heart and I need to be recording this time for her.

You're making treasures for Leah!

Good job, I'm into scrapping too. I got back into it when we had to do an album for the first part of our dossier. So I'm like 5 years behind, it's a good way for me to fill my "wait" time

This is something I've been wanting to do for ages but never seem to have the time for. I've saved a big pile of photos and other things, such as the notice with my daughter's birthdate and weight, etc., that was on her bassinette in the hospital nursery -- all waiting for the weekend I finally declare to be Scrapbooking Weekend!

How fun!! I'm glad to see that you've picked up the baby hoodie again - I was looking forward to seeing more of your yarn projects! I'm new with Blogger, but have been following your blog for the past few months! Maybe we can share knitting pics? Thanks for turning me on to Wee Wonderfuls, too!!

Hope that it is ok if I make a link to Forks & Chopsticks on my blog.....

XO, WendyZ

Your layouts look awesome. I've recently ventured into digital scrapbbooking - learning Photoshop Elements has been challenging. Err..

Those are beautiful. I have been thinking about trying one of those little lunch/file boxes with the paper piecing on the box and cards...but I have no idea where to start!

I love your pages. I too am a scrapper and love a good sale. I have not seen one like what you have in Jersey but we do have scrapbook fairs every once in a while with really great deals from overstock with companies like chatterbox and deja cuts. Anyway keep up the scraping and I can not wait to see more of your pages.
P.s. there are a few of my pages on my blog too... check them out if you get the time.

Awesome pages. I started one for my daughter when she was born and I haven't gotten past the hospital pics. She is 3 years old now!!! I'm a little behind to say the least. When I walk into a craft store though and see all the scrapbook supplies my heart almost stops because I get so overwhelmed. Everything is so adorable.
