Would you just STOP!

OK, I get that fertility, adoption and parenthood can be touchy subjects. I may chose (or choose - I never get that right) to adopt for different reasons than you do. The way I parent my daughter may be completely different than the way you parent your children. What I don't understand is why we all just can't get along.

I had a really nice e-mail conversation with a fellow blogger this morning. This person confided in me that she didn't want to blog about a particular issue because she was afraid of the backlash from people in the blogosphere. Why does she even have to ask this question?

I started blogging in January as a way to let my family and friends know what is going on in my life. Since then it has turned into so much more. I have enjoyed reading about your life. I love getting comments.I have even found (and met) some new friends through my blog.

But here's the deal. If I don't really like the subject matter of your blog I can do one of two things: Leave nasty comments and bash you on some YAHOO group or shut the friggin computer off. I turn mine off.

So my question is, can't we all play nicely in the sandbox children?

I agree!!! It is so easy for someone to say something nasty when you don't have to look into someone's eyes to do it. And don't even get me started on those "anonymous" commenters. Cowards...

PS, I did it because I can't comment under my real name anymore!!

I hear ya! Sometimes it is too much. I keep potential flame worthy topics off my blog. There is a lot of silly stuff out there. People need to find something else to do other then flame and snitch on each other.

I hope your friend can express herself (and everyone else for that fact) without fear of reprisal.

Keep smilin!

people like to talk shit about other people. and the internet has made it WAY TOO EASY to do exactly that without any real consequences. you know, as long as you have no heart or soul.
people are very expressive and very opinionated and i find it hard to believe that if it was a real conversation (face to face) that it would get as nasty as it often does online. unless oyu're talking to me, cause i'm the same offline as i am online. LOL

Good post. I don't always agree with the subject, but like reading different opinions and hearing why other people have the opinions they do.

What is up with people that have to knock on someone else to get their jollies? That's one sad state...grow up already. We are all one though we are not the same and that is quite fine by me :0)

I completely agree. I wish that everyone could just realize that we all need to hold each other up, not take each other down.

Unfortunately, I've had a comment or two that I took as offensive on my blog. I was totally hurt and the person who did it doesn't even have a blog. I agree, why can't we all just play nice. If you can't say something nice... Don't say anything at all!!!

I totally agree!
One of the things I love so much about the blog world is being able to read about others lives & the way they do things & their opinion on stuff. To me it keeps you from living in a box. :)

Right on! I've never had a rude comment on my blog. But have seen plenty on others.

I just wonder sometimes why people need to get so tightly wound and insult others on theie own blogs.

I've even seen people bash other commenters with their self-important points of view on parenting. Puh-lease. Parenting is hard work. And I don't think any of us has the formula for the secret sauce here.

Before I get too carried away, I'll stop. But I needed to say that.

Feel better now.

Thank you for asking. :)
