Talking

Leah likes to talk. So much so that she started at the very young age of nine months and never slowed down. Tonight she topped herself.

WARNING for my Dad or any in-laws who may be reading this post. You might want to just skip the rest of it.

Anyway, tonight at dinner the subject of pregnancy came up. Leah, in her 4 1/2 year old infinite wisdom, started talking about babies and where they come from. She then proceeded to tell the story of when I had to go to a doctors appointment with her in tow. As she so eloquently put it, "remember Mommy when you went to the doctor and he checked out your booty with a pair of pliers?" At this point Joe and I were laughing so hard we could barely talk.

For the record, when I went to aforementioned doctor I told her that she had to sit in the chair behind me and not move. As soon as the doctor began his exam, she jumped off the chair, ran right over and watched the whole thing. And now, a year afterwards, she apparently likes to talk about it. Great.

Yup, I've had many a kiddo over my shoulder also when I have the shoehorns in hand. I usually take a minute to set them up about how they can really 'help' me by holding mommy's hand. Some kids buy this...other no way. One of the best was a kiddo's amazed face with 'Ewww..mommy, that's where I came from?' Then he looked at me and said quite ernestly: 'Don't get another one out of there!'

That's funny!!!! Nothing like the gyno to make you laugh.

This happened to a friend of a friend. Might be an urban legend, but it's funny enough to keep passing on.

She was wating for the Dr. in the paper gown and didn't know whether to keep her shoes on or not. She decided to take them off, but then realized her feet smelled. Since that's where the Dr. is and since the wait is usually long she went to wash them. She threw one foot in the sink, but when she went to throw the other one in, she slipped on the wet one she'd just washed. The Dr and nurse came in to find her sprawled on the floor!!

She's right, they do look like plyers. I haven't ever thought of this in 42 years and she figures it out at 4 1/2.

That really gave me a good laugh. She is a real pip! I'm both looking forward to and dreading Collin learning how to talk. I tink once he gets going he is never going to stop!
