A Break

Have you ever felt all blogged out? I guess this is what I am feeling right now. I don't know what direction I should be taking this blog thing. I have been going along now for nine months but feel it is getting a bit repetitive. I may decide to take it in a different direction. So, for right now, I will be taking a little break from Forks & Chopsticks.

Having said that, I will still be posting about reading and our book club at The Written Word. See you soon.

Yes, feeling it right now, in fact. Maybe it's an epidemic ... I know we're both in the adoption-wait-twilight-zone, I'm sure that has something to do with it. Nice to know there's someone out there in the same boat - maybe that's a reason for us both to keep blogging!

I know how you feel but don't take a total break, when you welcome your new baby we are all going to hound you for details so try not to close up shop all together. Give it a few weeks and see if you miss it.

I have always enjoyed reading your blog Stephanie. You are such a creative writer and it's a great way to keep up with what is going on in your life. I'll miss it and hopefully you won't be gone too long!!

I know exactly what you mean. Lately I feel like a 5th grader. "Dear Diary. I got my first zit." Sometimes things will pop into my head, and I think it would make an interesting blog entry, and poof it goes out when I hit the old computer.

Speaking of books, this one is really interesting. I browsed thru it at B&N this weekend, good for those blah days when you need a writing prompt.

I'll miss reading your creative posts and hope you are not gone for long.

I may blather on my blog but I haven't lost the therapeutic value of doing so...yet ;0)

Yep, I totally get it.

Let me head on over to the book club blog and see if I can find a good read....

I understand too. No need to stress over something that you should be enjoying.

There are times when life just gets too busy and hectic to even be able to formulate a thought or find anything in my life worth writing about. Paraphrasing what you said - sometimes it just seems that it's all been said before.

Oh, I will miss you! I have been trying to comment (tried on your sister's blog, too) But couldn't! Let's see if this works...

Hope you have a good break and come back feeling inspired!

You are really funny and do not feel that you are the only one. I too feel like I am just reapeating myself and have nothing new/interesting to say. But I had a break and it really helped!

Keep smilin!

Stephanie,

Oooh, I just found your blog--hope you come back soon!

p.s. if you're looking for something more to read, may I. ahem, suggest my novel, Somebody's Daughter? China Connection just asked me to do an article on the research I did for the novel--it's about adoption.

We'll be waiting for you when you get back :)

I go through spurts myself but just when I think I'm done something new always catches my interest .. guess I'm too easily entertained ;)

You know blogging is like a diary, so you shouldn't take too long of a break..just jot...ahem, I mean type down any random thing that is happening, it will be fun for you to read when you look back later on in life.
