My daughter is very much a typical "girly-girl." Every day, she begs me to let her wear a dress. She loves to put on lip gloss and what she calls her "tappy" shoes. She carries around her pink and blue "Hello Kitty" purse filled with plastic jewerly. We talk about what she wants to do with her hair in the morning.
So, we were pleasantly surprised when we read Leah's response to a questionnaire from her pre-school - What do you like to do with your Dad? This was all part of a Father's Day project they were working on. Leah simple response was that she likes to help him with his tools. For all the girly-ness within her, she just loves playing with her Dad and his screwdrivers, wrenches and all the other greasy little tools she can get her hands on. That night, Joe cleaned out one of his old toolboxes, took Leah to Home Depot (in her overalls, of course) and together they began to fill it up with her "own" tools. Awww, that's very cute. And of course, dad has another excuse to go to the H.D.!
Our little girl uses a plastic play hammer when she's playing doctor to "fix" us. I don't think she'll be getting the real thing soon.
my daughter loves using tools with her daddy too. she'll pick up the screwdriver and pretend to fix something. and she loves banging the hammer. cute pics!
Too cute. She's quite the handy girl!
PS - I LOVE your blog. May I add you to my faves on my blog??? Glad I found you!
Looks like she's a girly girl AND a Daddy's girl. ;)
That is great! My son used to like to wear princess dresses, I miss that!

I love the balance! Tools and lipstick... she knows a woman can look good and build even better!
That's great that she is able to bond with her daddy like that. ^_^
I love the combo...a girly girl that's not afraid to get her hands dirty! You go, Leah!
A nutdriver? Hmm. I think I know how to use one. What about a circular saw? Cuz I'm afraid I'll cut my fingers off ...
