Unavailable

I will be unavailable between the hours of 8pm & 10 pm the next two nights while I watch the PBS series Texas Ranch House. This six hour series (which began last night) follows a group of people as they go back in time (1867 to be exact) and live like real cowboys for a few months. You can find out more here.

I first fell in love with this series when PBS showed the fabulous Frontier House a few years back. During that series three families lived the difficult life on the frontier. It was riveting TV and I was glued to the screen. I believe you can rent Frontier House from the video store and if you have the time I would highly suggest it. Since then they had Colonial House, but I felt that the people picked for that series just weren't that interesting. Texas Ranch House started off pretty well last night, so I am definitely ready to break out the popcorn tonight!

I loved Frontier & Colonial house too! Too bad I missed the first night - maybe it'll run again.

Wouldn't be able to watch it tonight anyway - I'm an Amazing Race addict (I cheer on my favorite team like a man watching the Super Bowl).

BTW, I'll check with Katie to see if she's available next week.

Dang it!! I missed the first night. I've been wanting to see that since I saw the first preview. I'll have to record it as I'm already committed to other shows on Tues.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Ok, I'm with the Anon poster above as I'll be watching American Idol! I remember seeing some of Colonial House and didn't enjoy that one. But I do wonder how these people selected can make it after being used to so much commercialization and comforts that we have today!

Oh I love this show!! My husband and I caught it the other night! Did you ever see 1912 House. Same thing but a family in London living like 1912. Anyway can't wait for the next episode. Oh that horrible Outhouse!

Oh I just saw someone else's post it was 1920 House.

Oh check out the Deadliest Catch on Discovery Tuesdays 9:00. It follows Fishing Boats like the "Perfect Storm" ones. Great show.

I loved those too-esp frontier house and the one in England. I think expounding on these ideas would be so much more entertaining than most of the "reality" shows on today.
